A Gift to the Library is a Gift to the Community

How can you make a difference in the lives of others and help build a stronger community? Consider investing in your community's future by making a gift in honor of a friend or loved one to the Logan County Libraries. The library enriches the lives of everyone in our community, regardless of age or economic circumstance.

Every day, people come to the library to explore new ideas, improve their lives, build a better future, and experience a unique sense of community. It is a place where individuals can turn when they have few resources and nowhere else to go.

If you are interested in contributing to the library, please email the Library Director, Beverly Arlequeeuw, or call (937) 599-4189.

Gift Policies

The library encourages interest and involvement from citizens and organizations in its service programs through contributions of both book and non-book materials for its collections. Donations of gifts that enhance the physical environment, as well as bequests, trusts, or monetary contributions for Library purposes, are welcomed.

Once a gift is accepted by the library, it cannot be returned. Gifts of miscellaneous books or other materials will be accepted with the understanding that any items not added to the collections may be disposed of at the discretion of the library.

More specific gifts, such as works of art, furniture, portraits, antiques, equipment, special collections, stocks, and real property, will be referred to the Director for acceptance in consultation with the Board of Trustees. When funds are donated for specific purposes, the amount and nature of the expenditure must receive prior approval.

Substantial cash offerings, securities, and bequests will be managed by the Director, who will work with the Board of Trustees to establish terms of acceptance that align with Library policies, the donor’s intent, and applicable laws.

The library welcomes cash gifts for the purchase of library materials in honor of individuals or organizations. We will make every effort to accommodate the subject or title preferences of the donor. If desired, the names of the donor(s) and the individuals or organizations being recognized will be included on a bookplate attached to the materials.

Upon request, the library will provide written acknowledgment of the receipt of gifts. However, in accordance with income tax regulations, the determination of the donation's value will be left to the donor.

Memorial Gifts
The library accepts memorial donations for both the deceased and the living, as well as for pets. Patrons interested in this service should email Adult Services, call (937) 599-4189 or complete this online form.
